Our Story
KLEAR (Kilbarrack Local Education for Adult Renewal) started in 1980 when a group of local women, who had worked successfully on a summer project for their children, discussed the momentum generated by their joint efforts with a local community worker and they decided to stay together to develop themselves through education.
Gradually, as their vision and ideas grew, the group began to offer a range of courses in rooms rented from local schools. KLEAR eventually found a permanent home in part of the local infants’ school. KLEAR was incorporated as a private limited company in 1995 and obtained charitable status at that stage.
